1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MovieTrips ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

MovieTrips is a personal movie tracking application that allows users to:

• Log movies watched in theaters
• Track viewing statistics and history
• Import movie watches from ticket confirmation emails
• Participate in community features
• Access mystery movie predictions

The Service is provided "as is" and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect at any time.

3. User Accounts

Registration

To use most features of MovieTrips, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Promptly update any information that changes
• Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for restricting access to your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Upload malicious code or content
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
• Collect user information without consent
• Circumvent any access restrictions or rate limits

5. User Content

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to MovieTrips (notes, ratings, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Service.

Content Standards

User content must not:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Contain defamatory, obscene, or offensive material
• Include personal information of others without consent

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these standards.

6. Intellectual Property

Our Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user content and third-party data), is owned by MovieTrips and protected by intellectual property laws.

Third-Party Content

Movie information, posters, and metadata are provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. All movie-related content belongs to their respective owners.

Trademarks

Theater brand names (Regal, AMC, Cinemark, etc.) are trademarks of their respective owners. MovieTrips is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any theater chain.

7. Email Processing

If you use the email ticket import feature:

• You authorize us to receive and process ticket confirmation emails you forward
• You represent that you have the right to share those emails
• We will only use email content to extract movie watch information
• Email content is processed automatically and not reviewed by humans unless troubleshooting is needed

8. Google API Services

If you choose to connect your Google account to MovieTrips for Gmail ticket scanning:

• You authorize MovieTrips to access your Gmail account solely to identify and parse movie ticket confirmation emails
• We only read emails that match ticket confirmation patterns from supported theater chains
• We do not read, store, or process any emails unrelated to movie tickets
• You can disconnect your Google account at any time through your account settings
• Upon disconnection, we will delete any stored access tokens

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Movie information will be accurate or complete
• Mystery movie predictions will be correct
• The Service will meet your specific requirements

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOVIETRIPS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MovieTrips and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you submit to the Service

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MovieTrips regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
